Beauty has always been part of my story. But what I believe about beauty has changed.

For more than 15 years, I worked as a professional makeup artist, including time with iconic beauty brands like Clinique, Chanel, and Laura Mercier. I later spent nearly a decade running my own bridal and special event makeup business, helping women feel beautiful for some of the most meaningful moments of their lives.

Then came motherhood — and eventually, a very different relationship with the products I brought into our home. When I stepped away from the beauty industry to raise and homeschool our three children, I found myself paying closer attention to ingredient labels and questioning many of the products we had always used without a second thought. I wanted simpler options made with ingredients I recognized and understood — especially for the products we were using on our skin every day.

That curiosity eventually led me to tallow. I began creating simple, tallow-based skincare for our own family, thoughtfully choosing each ingredient and learning what worked. I never set out to turn those little jars into a business. But as we used them, loved them, and began sharing them with others, something unexpected started to grow.

In October 2025, Identity Tallow was born. Today, I still formulate with the same mindset I had when I was making products only for our home: keep it simple, understand the ingredients, and give each one a reason for being there. My hope for Identity extends beyond what comes inside a jar. I want to help make ingredient-conscious skincare feel approachable — not overwhelming — and encourage families to ask questions, read labels, and feel confident about the products they choose.

Because after spending so many years in the beauty industry, I've come to believe that beauty isn't about adding more. Sometimes, it's about returning to what matters.
